課程概述

Course Description
This course will be a survey of Thoreau's most important writing on Transcendentalism. The critical focus will be on the development of Thoreau's metaphysics by tracing his progression from Western philosophy to Eastern cosmology.

 Course Objectives
To provide an extensive background on Thoreau's work related to his spiritual epistemology and his cosmology as influenced by Indian thinking and stoicism.
